How to Identify 100% Pure Kashmiri Saffron

Kashmiri saffron is world-renowned for its purity and potency. However, the market is flooded with adulterated versions. To identify pure saffron, follow these steps:

1. The Water Test: Real saffron will slowly release a bright yellow/orange hue while the thread itself remains red. Fake saffron will instantly turn the water red and the thread will turn white.

2. The Shape: Authentic Kashmiri saffron threads are trumpet-shaped at one end and flat at the other. If the threads are uniform and thin throughout, they might be dyed silk or corn husks.

3. The Aroma: Pure saffron has a unique scent that is a mixture of hay-like and honey-like notes. If it smells like nothing or chemical-like, it is likely fake.
